Experienced Service Advisor for Truck Shop Needed

Austin Fleet Services (AFS) is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to add to our thriving team! We are a mobile and in-shop fleet maintenance and repair company servicing clients across the great state of Texas.

Essential Functions

The Service Advisor will be responsible for overseeing the service and repair of trucks and trailers in our shop. Applicants will need to work with customers to identify necessary services, communicate with mechanics to ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently, and work with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Applicants must be highly ethical and possess excellent customer service skills. Applicants should be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision. Experience in a truck shop is highly desirable.

What you will do:

• Work with customers to identify necessary truck or trailer servicing and repair.
  
• Listen to their questions and concerns and provide timely responses and updates.
• Educate clients about the company’s products, services and offers.
• Schedule appointments, take orders, monitor service progress, calculate charges and process payments in Fullbay software.
• Manage complaints, returns and resolve customer grievances.
• Pricing – estimating labor and parts on Jobs. Works closely with vendors and always compare pricing to keep Vendors competitive.
• Sources and manage parts and inventory for accuracy and availability.
• Schedule work and dispatch techs with parts and equipment needed. 
• Communicate with mechanics to ensure effective and efficient completion of work.
• Manage techs time - make sure they check in and out of service orders accurately. 
• QA work orders for compliance with processes.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment, in accordance with OSHA & client standards.
• Work on-call as needed.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to changing work conditions and customer requirements.

Required Skills & Education:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a truck shop or equivalent
• HS Diploma
• Proven customer service skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Willing to attend workshops and continuing education classes/programs
